Each November, the automotive world descends upon the Las Vegas Convention Center for the weeklong SEMA Show, the premier gathering of industry professionals who work in the automotive aftermarket. This year, Tinker DIY was at the center of the action. The first-ever Tinker DIY booth wowed the over 160,000 attendees of SEMA 2024 with live app demos of real DIY calls, exciting vehicle displays, special industry guests and other surprises, including a chance to win amazing prizes.
SEMA is a car lover’s paradise, and the Tinker booth became a hub of horsepower with incredible one-off builds from three of the industry’s most popular influencers. The rotating display of power and style included Yunni Zhai’s 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman, Formula Drift PRO1 driver Rome Charpentier’s Garagistic 2011 BMW 1 Series and Rich Madlangbayan’s LS V8-Powered 1973 Datsun 240Z.
Wearing a special Tinker DIY wrap, Rich’s Datsun (shown to the right) was chosen by the editors of Autoweek as one of their favorite cars at SEMA 2024. Of course, Yunni, Rome and Rich were on hand to answer questions about their remarkable machines.
“The Tinker booth was the place to be at SEMA this year, our space was packed the entire week and we had a lot of fun showing off the Tinker DIY app to thousands of automotive DIY enthusiasts,” said Kellen Pirri, Tinker DIY’s Director of Marketing. “We grew our community of Tinker DIYers and many professional automotive service technicians and seasoned builders took the opportunity to join the ranks as a Tinker expert mechanic.”
An automotive trade show produced by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) since the 1960s, the SEMA Show focuses on businesses catering to the aftermarket and DIYers, so it was the perfect fit for Tinker DIY. As the only mobile app that supports the community of car enthusiasts and auto DIYers, Tinker is transforming the automotive DIY marketplace by offering real-time, one-on-one help via live video calls with automotive experts on any make and model.
Over the four-day event, a total of 10 automotive influencers spent countless hours in the Tinker booth signing autographs and engaging with fans, including Nikolai Aksenov, Nhu Tran, Derek Huynh (shown to the left), Jose Luis Cisneros, Annika Carter, Annie Elizabeth and professional drag racer Lindsay Wheelock. Check out their social media channels for even more coverage from the Tinker SEMA booth.
The 2024 SEMA Show was a blast, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the amazing response to the Tinker DIY app from the incredible community of automotive enthusiasts. The energy, passion and positive feedback from everyone at SEMA exceeded our high expectations.
